West Highland Lochs and Castles by Minivan |

Details
Start with a short visit of Doune Castle and refreshments in Callander or Kilmahog. Cross into the Highlands and travel by Loch Luibnaig, Loch Earn, the pass of Glen Ogle and Glen Dochart. Turn west at Tyndrum through Glen Lochy to Dalmally.
Under the shadow of Ben Cruachan, stop at the Glenorchy Lodge Hotel for lunch (not included). Continue a short distance to Scotland's longest loch - Loch Awe. Here you can capture on camera the spectacular ruins of Kilchurn Castle, a stronghold of the Clan Campbell.
Continue to Inveraray, an 18th century whitewashed village on the shores of Loch Fyne. Here you can visit Inveraray Castle, the home of the Duke of Argyll, chief of the Clan Campbell. The castle is neo-Gothic and Scots baronial style, set in it's own grounds with views over the Loch. There are many attractions here to visit such as the 19th century jail, the museum ship, and the Bell Tower.
Depart Inveraray after an hour, and travel south along Loch Fyne. This sea loch is renowned for fine seafood and you will see oyster beds, salmon and trout farms along the way. Drive over the Rest and be Thankful, named by the soldiers who built the original road in the 18th century. As you look down this pass, you will see it was aptly named! Travel around Loch Long, with it's history of Viking raiders and wind your way down to Loch Lomond, stopping at Luss, set on the "bonny, bonny banks". Luss is a conservation village with traditional estate workers cottages lining the road. You can stroll down to the Loch for fantastic views to Ben Lomond. Head back to Edinburgh stopping for photos underneath Stirling Castle.
